Like other flowers in the genus, this species has intensely night-fragrant flowers (mine smelled like lemon pledge all night long). A member of the Cattleya tribe, it has pseudobulbs with slender, terete leaves, which points to a need for strong light to grow and bloom well. This is an easy species to grow and is probably best presented on a plaque. Of particular note is that this orchid has one of the longest pedicels of any orchid flower...a good six inches between the flowering stem and the base of the flower.

---Prem
